Cotton futures rose between 11 and 32 points on Wednesday, with the May 26 contract reaching 67.94 cents/lb and the July 26 contract at 70.05 cents/lb. The US dollar index increased by $0.133, now standing at $99.375, while crude oil prices declined by $1.71, down nearly $3.50 from recent lows.
On Tuesday, The Seam reported 2,087 bales sold at an average of 68.17 cents/lb. The Cotlook A Index decreased by 10 points to 77.75 cents as of March 24. ICE certified cotton stocks increased by 975 bales to a total of 114,665 bales. The Adjusted World Price also rose by 2.72 cents to 54.22 cents/lb last Thursday.
