On April 21, cotton prices reflected mixed movements: May contracts decreased by 193 points, closing at 76.33 cents/lb, while July and December contracts rose slightly by 2 and 8 points respectively. The US dollar index was up by 0.209 at $98.430, and crude oil prices increased by $3.20 to $92.87.
On the same day, the Seam reported the sale of 905 bales of cotton at an average price of 74.69 cents/lb. ICE certified cotton stocks increased by 893 bales, bringing the total to 165,860 bales. Furthermore, the Adjusted World Price rose by 287 points to 61.61 cents/lb, and the Cotlook A Index increased by 35 points to 89.45 cents.
