Cotton prices showed mixed movement on Tuesday, with futures up by 16 to 75 points after a decline of 46 to 55 points on Monday. As of Sunday, 65% of U.S. cotton was reported setting bolls, and 10% of bolls had opened, while condition ratings decreased to 40% good/excellent, down 2 percentage points from the previous week.
On August 7, 246 bales were sold at an average price of 81.82 cents per pound, and the Cotlook A Index increased by 20 points to 93.70 cents. The ICE certified cotton stocks remained stable at 84,632 bales. The Adjusted World Price rose by 163 points last week, bringing it to 66.29 cents per pound. Current cotton futures include October at 82.72 cents (up 16 points), December at 83.86 cents (up 71 points), and March at 85.72 cents (up 75 points).
