Cotton futures are trading 60 to 85 points higher across the front months as of Tuesday, with May 2026 contracts at 78.24 cents per pound, July 2026 at 80.79 cents, and December 2026 at 81.6 cents. The US dollar index increased by 0.313 to $98.220, while crude oil prices rose by $3.03 midday.
As of April 19, the NASS Crop Progress report indicated that 11% of the US cotton crop has been planted, surpassing the 5-year average of 10%. On April 20, the Cotlook A Index was recorded at 89.10 cents, up 175 points, with ICE certified cotton stocks steady at 164,967 bales, and the Adjusted World Price rose to 61.61 cents per pound.
