**Cotton Futures Update: April 15, 2023**
Cotton futures are experiencing an increase, with contracts rising between 95 and 110 points on Friday after a morning dip. As of now, the May 2026 cotton closed at 76.73 cents per pound, while July 2026 and December 2026 cotton closed at 79.23 and 79.95 cents per pound, respectively.
USDA Export Sales data reported export commitments at 10.409 million running bales, down 1% from last year, marking 92% of the USDA’s target, which is below the usual 100% pace over the last five years. Current export figures stand at 6.71 million running bales, reaching 60% of the USDA’s goals, trailing the five-year average pace of 62%.
Additionally, The Seam reported 4,014 bales sold at an average price of 74.94 cents per pound, with ICE certified cotton stocks holding steady at 162,367 bales.
