Cotton futures prices experienced a decline on Wednesday, falling by 10 to 33 points after a previous closing increase of 48 to 70 points on Tuesday, March 16. The May 26 contract closed at 68.77 cents per pound, up 58 points but currently down 31 points. Other contracts also saw similar trends with July 26 closing at 70.75 cents (up 69 points, down 32 points) and December 26 at 72.65 cents (up 67 points, down 49 points).
On Monday, The Seam reported sales of 17,379 bales, averaging 63.71 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index increased by 70 points to 76.45 cents on March 16, while ICE certified cotton stocks remained unchanged at 116,789 bales. The Adjusted World Price rose by 6 points to 51.50 cents per pound.
