Cotton Prices Rise at Monday’s Midday Update

Cotton futures saw gains of 18 to 25 points on Monday, amid mixed outside market conditions. Crude oil futures rose by $1.34 per barrel, while the US dollar index increased by $0.896 to reach 98.295.

As of July 22, the Commitment of Traders data indicated that speculators added 1,415 contracts to their net short position, totaling 39,879 contracts. On July 25, the Cotlook A Index increased by 50 points to 79.20 cents, and ICE cotton stocks remained steady at 21,617 bales, with USDA’s Adjusted World Price up 23 points at 54.95 cents per pound.

As for specific cotton futures, the October 2025 contract is at 67.26 cents, up 25 points; the December 2025 contract is at 68.42 cents, up 19 points; and the March 2026 contract is at 69.83 cents, up 18 points.
