Cotton prices rose by 166 to 246 points on Thursday, following a dip of 8 to 65 points the previous day. As of May 26, May cotton closed at 76.86 cents per pound, down 48 points, while July and December cotton saw increases of 248 points and 217 points, respectively, closing at 79.20 and 80.46 cents. The US dollar index increased by $0.359, reaching $98.835, and crude oil prices climbed by $8.56 to $108.49.
On April 28, the Cotlook A Index rose by 20 points, now at 89.35 cents, while certified cotton stocks remained stable at 165,681 bales. The Seam reported the sale of just 139 bales on Tuesday at an average price of 68 cents per pound. Additionally, the Adjusted World Price increased by 365 points on Thursday, reaching 65.26 cents per pound.
