Cotton Exhibits Mild Decline on Wednesday Morning

Cotton prices declined by 50 to 62 points on Wednesday, following losses of 3 to 45 points across the board on Tuesday. As of the latest reports, Oct 26 Cotton closed at 79.21 cents/lb, Dec 26 Cotton at 80.53 cents/lb, and Mar 27 Cotton at 82.11 cents/lb.

As of Sunday, 81% of the US cotton crop was squared, matching normal levels, while 45% was setting bolls, in line with the 5-year average. Cotton condition ratings showed a slight improvement to 46% classified as good/excellent. The Brugler500 index increased by 4 points to 336, with ratings in Texas up 10 points.

The Cotlook A Index decreased to 89.10 cents, down 125 points, and ICE certified cotton stocks fell by 3,536 bales, now at a total of 90,699 bales. The Adjusted World Price was reduced by 155 points to 63.82 cents/lb, effective through Thursday.
