Rivian Automotive, Inc. (RIVN) is recalling 19,641 R1 vehicles due to a rear suspension issue that may lead to improper reassembly of the rear suspension toe link joint. The recall affects models from 2022 to 2025, specifically 7,031 R1S SUVs and 12,610 R1T pickup trucks serviced between April 1, 2022, and March 10, 2025. Rivian will repair the affected vehicles free of charge; notifications will begin on February 24, 2026.
The suspension servicing procedure used during the recall period has led to a risk of toe link separation, increasing the potential for crashes. As of the filing date with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there has been one reported incident related to this issue. Rivian’s shares have increased 50.7% in the past six months, outpacing the industry growth of 40%.
