Nvidia’s Dividend Surge and Micron’s Potential
Nvidia has recently announced a significant dividend hike, increasing its payout to $0.25 per share from a mere $0.01, representing a 2,400% increase. This move will result in approximately $25 billion in annual dividends for shareholders, backed by a market cap of $5.3 trillion.
In parallel, Micron Technology, a key player in the semiconductor industry, is also experiencing a surge in profits due to a memory chip shortage, reporting a net income of $50.5 billion over the last four quarters. Currently paying a quarterly dividend of $0.15, Micron’s dividend yield stands at just 0.06%. Analysts suggest that, given its robust cash flow and significant cash reserves of $25 billion, Micron could consider a substantial dividend increase similar to Nvidia’s.
