Tesla Cybercab Production Launch
Tesla has officially begun production of its Cybercab at Gigafactory Texas, with a reported capacity exceeding 125,000 vehicles annually. Employee rides commenced in July 2023, with public rides in Austin anticipated to start by late August.
Should the Cybercab sell at the targeted price of under $30,000, annual sales of 125,000 units would generate approximately $3.8 billion in revenue, representing about 4% of Tesla’s projected $94.8 billion revenue for 2025. Furthermore, with each Cybercab estimated to earn around $50,000 annually in fares, total fare revenue could peak at about $3 billion.
Despite the production capacity, Tesla faces challenges in scaling up. The actual output is contingent on battery supply, and the current service may not yield significant contributions to overall revenue in its first year.
