On Wednesday, May arabica coffee (KCK26) prices fell by 2.84% to close at $288.60, while May ICE robusta coffee (RMK26) dropped 3.76% to $3,546. This decline comes amid favorable weather forecasts in Brazil, where rainfall is expected in key coffee-growing regions, contributing to a drop in global coffee prices.
As of Wednesday, ICE-monitored arabica inventories decreased slightly to 552,192 bags, down from a five-month high of 564,626 bags. Conversely, robusta coffee inventories fell to 4,563 lots, following a peak of 4,721 lots on March 3.
Brazil’s coffee exports saw significant declines, with February exports down 27% year-over-year, totaling 142,000 metric tons, according to the Trade Ministry. Forecasts from Brazil’s Conab agency indicate potential record production of 66.2 million bags by 2026, up 17.2% from the previous year.
