Analysis of Recent Hedge Fund Activity in Merck & Co Inc

Notably, Merck & Co Inc (Symbol: MRK) was included in the portfolios of 16 hedge funds from this batch. When multiple managers show a similar investment strategy, it’s worth investigating further.

Among the funds analyzed, six increased their existing MRK positions from December 31, 2024, to March 31, 2025. In comparison, nine funds decreased their holdings. Notably, Delta Capital Management LLC completely exited its long position in MRK by March 31, 2025.

Expanding our analysis, we aggregated the total MRK share count held among all funds reporting on March 31, 2025. From a total of 877 funds examined, we compared this figure to the holdings on December 31, 2024. The results revealed a reduction of 1,118,717 shares, dropping from 28,753,019 to 27,634,302, which is a decline of approximately 3.89%. The top three funds holding MRK as of March 31, 2025, were significant players in this market segment.

We will continue to monitor the latest 13F filings from hedge funds and provide insights from these data sets. While examining individual filings has its limitations, analyzing the aggregate behavior of groups of funds over time can yield meaningful insights and investment ideas worth further evaluation, like those involving Merck & Co Inc (Symbol: MRK).
