Cotton prices rose by 30 to 40 points on Tuesday morning, although futures experienced losses of 10 to 15 points at the close. The December 26 online auction from The Seam reported sales of 9,181 bales at an average price of 60.31 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index increased by 50 points to 74.00 cents.
In related commodities, crude oil futures climbed by $1.09 per barrel to $57.83, while the US dollar index held steady at 97.700. The Adjusted World Price for cotton was updated to 50.02 cents per pound, marking a slight rise of 3 points from the previous week. ICE certified cotton stocks remained stable at 11,600 bales as of December 26.
