EHang Holdings Limited has announced an expanded partnership with Gotion High-Tech Co., Ltd. to advance power systems for its EH216 series of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This partnership follows a framework agreement signed in December 2023.
The partnership aims to leverage Gotion’s new 46-series cylindrical battery technology, enhancing flight range, thrust performance, and safety. The targeted outcomes include the commercialization of safe, efficient low-altitude transportation solutions, positioning both companies for future developments in urban air mobility (UAM).
Currently, EHang has obtained the world’s first type certificate and air operator certificates for its pilotless EH216-S aircraft. The collaboration will also focus on building a sustainable eVTOL energy ecosystem as both companies prepare for the growing low-altitude economy.
