Element Solutions Exceeds Q1 Earnings and Revenue Projections

Element Solutions Inc. (ESI) reported earnings of 23 cents per share for Q1 2026, a decline from 40 cents in the same period last year, with a net income of $56 million, down 43% year-over-year due to prior-year gains from the Graphics Solutions divestiture. However, barring one-time items, adjusted earnings rose to 41 cents per share, exceeding the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 38 cents.

The company generated net sales of $840 million, a 41% increase from $593.7 million year-over-year, surpassing the consensus estimate of $744.4 million. Within its segments, Electronics net sales rose 61% to $633.5 million, while Specialties net sales increased 4% to $206.5 million, falling short of the $207 million estimate.

ESI ended the quarter with cash and cash equivalents of $177.3 million and total debt of $2.058 billion, reflecting an increase from the previous year. The company projects full-year adjusted EBITDA for 2026 in the range of $665 million to $685 million, up from an earlier forecast of $650 million to $670 million.
