Elon Musk Becomes World’s First Trillionaire
Elon Musk achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first person in history to surpass a $1 trillion net worth following the record-breaking IPO of SpaceX, also known as Space Exploration Technologies. The IPO raised $75 billion, valuing the company at over $2 trillion. Musk’s wealth soared from approximately $813 billion to more than $1 trillion with SpaceX’s market debut.
SpaceX’s Starlink division significantly contributes to the company’s financial success, generating $11.4 billion in revenue last year with nearly 40% operating margins. However, despite its impressive valuation, analysts caution that SpaceX stock, priced at around 117 times sales, may be a risky investment proposition.
Musk’s net worth has seen dramatic growth, jumping from $2.7 billion in 2013 to $1.3 trillion in 2025, making him wealthier than historic figures like John D. Rockefeller combined. As of now, Musk’s wealth is supported by an estimated $866 billion in SpaceX shares and $455 billion in Tesla shares, along with $1 billion in cash.
