Intel Loses Ground to AMD and Nvidia in Chip Market
Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) has seen a significant decline in its market share, now holding approximately 55% of the server CPU market, down from a commanding 85% to 95%. This drop coincides with a 4% year-over-year revenue decline reported for Q4 2025, prompting forecasts of further revenue erosion in Q1 2026. In contrast, AMD (NASDAQ: AMD) is gaining ground, particularly with its EPYC processors, and aims for a compound annual growth rate of over 80% over the next three to five years.
Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) remains the top competitor in the GPU market, but AMD is rapidly advancing with its MI350 and upcoming MI450 series GPUs. While Intel’s shares surged 84% in 2025, they plummeted over 20% last week, highlighting its struggle to maintain momentum in a rapidly evolving AI landscape.
