ETFs Seeing Unexpected Surge in Volume: Spotlight on ESML

The iShares ESG Aware MSCI USA Small-Cap ETF (ESML) experienced unusually high trading volume on Friday, with over 624,000 shares exchanged compared to a three-month average of about 100,000 shares. The ETF’s shares rose approximately 0.6% during the trading session.

Key components contributing to this volume were Ondas, which saw a 3% increase with over 38.4 million shares traded, and Plug Power, climbing 2.1% with 28.6 million shares exchanged. Notably, Maxlinear performed the best with an 11.9% rise, while Gamestop underperformed, declining by about 5.6%.
