Nvidia and the “Magnificent Seven” Stocks

In 2023, Bank of America analyst Michael Hartnett coined the term “Magnificent Seven” for tech giants Nvidia, Amazon, Apple, Alphabet, Meta Platforms, Microsoft, and Tesla, which have a combined market capitalization of $22 trillion, representing nearly one-third of the S&P 500’s value. Currently, only Jensen Huang (Nvidia), Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), and Elon Musk (Tesla) are actively guiding their respective companies, as the leadership landscape continues to evolve.

Company Profiles and Performance

Nvidia, founded in 1993 by Huang, generated $81.61 billion in revenue in its most recent quarter, with $75.2 billion from data center sales. Meanwhile, Meta Platforms, initially created as Facebook, has pivoted towards artificial intelligence after a failed metaverse initiative, now averaging 3.56 billion daily users across its apps. Tesla, which Musk joined in 2004, remains a leader in electric vehicles while also exploring AI projects such as full self-driving technology and humanoid robots.
