Amazon and Anthropic Strike $25 Billion Deal
Amazon has announced a significant partnership with AI startup Anthropic, potentially valued at up to $25 billion if milestones are achieved. The deal includes an initial investment of $5 billion, with an option for Amazon to invest an additional $20 billion in the future. Over the next decade, Anthropic has committed to spending more than $100 billion on cloud services using Amazon’s AI chips.
This partnership provides Anthropic with up to 5 gigawatts of computing capacity via Amazon’s Trainium AI chips, helping to address current supply and speed issues. The collaboration not only solidifies Amazon’s foothold in the AI chip market but also positions Anthropic for potential growth ahead of its IPO, with projections estimating its valuation to reach as high as $800 billion.
