Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for over 422,000 vehicles due to potential issues with windshield wipers, announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. About 3% of these vehicles may experience wiper arm malfunctions, leading to reduced visibility and increased accident risk. The recall affects multiple models, including 17,210 Lincoln Navigators (2021-2023), 79,164 Ford Expeditions (2021-2023), and 326,239 Ford Super Duty trucks (2022-2023).
Dealerships will inspect and replace faulty wiper arms at no cost to owners, with notifications expected to be mailed between April 13 and April 17. Notably, Ford has reported no crashes, injuries, or fires linked to this issue, which is believed to stem from a defective latch retention plate in the wiper arm.
In a related notice, General Motors Company is recalling 271,770 vehicles due to rearview camera issues, while Lucid Group, Inc. is recalling over 4,000 Gravity SUVs due to improperly welded seat belt anchors.
