Amazon Web Services Growth Forecast
In an all-hands meeting this week, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy projected that Amazon Web Services (AWS) could generate $600 billion in annual revenue over the next decade, significantly higher than his prior estimate of $300 billion. This optimistic outlook is attributed to the surge in demand for AI technologies, which Jassy believes will drive AWS growth by 366%.
Jassy emphasized that Amazon plans to invest approximately $200 billion in capital expenditures, primarily in AWS, to meet burgeoning demand for AI and cloud services. AWS, which generated $128.7 billion in revenue last year, must grow its sales by an average of 17% annually to reach the projected benchmark.
