Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) has awarded a subcontract worth up to $406,478 to NASA’s Langley Research Center to enhance space-based LIDAR data through quantum computing. This initiative, part of QCi’s continued collaboration with NASA, aims to mitigate solar noise, improving daytime atmospheric sensing capabilities.
Additionally, QCi received a contract from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for the design and fabrication of thin-film lithium niobate (TFLN) photonic integrated circuits (PICs). This contract marks QCi’s first direct government project for TFLN services and aims to position the company as a key supplier of advanced photonic technologies.
In related updates, IonQ signed an MOU with the U.S. Department of Energy for developing quantum communications in space, while Rigetti Computing was awarded a $5.8 million contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory to advance superconducting quantum networking.
