Netflix Q2 Earnings and Shareholder Concerns
Netflix reported a revenue increase of 13% year-over-year in the second quarter, reaching $12.6 billion, fueled by membership growth and ad sales. Operating income grew 11% to $4.2 billion, with earnings per share at $0.80.
Despite these gains, shares declined as investors expressed concern over decreased transparency; Netflix plans to reduce its “What We Watched” reports from twice a year to once a year starting in 2027, raising questions about its engagement metrics. The company also narrowed its full-year revenue outlook to $51 billion – $51.4 billion.
