Apple Announces New CEO
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) officially appointed John Ternus as its new CEO on September 1, 2026, marking the company’s first CEO change in 15 years. Following the announcement, Apple’s stock rose 2.5% while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite decreased by 0.7% and 0.9%, respectively.
Tim Cook will transition to the role of Executive Chairman, continuing to engage with policymakers globally. Under Cook’s leadership, Apple’s annual revenue grew to over $416 billion in fiscal 2025, approximately four times the revenue when he began as CEO in 2011.
