Intel’s 2026 Roadmap and Market Challenges

Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) is set to launch two new CPU families—Panther Lake for laptops and Nova Lake for desktops—manufactured using its advanced Intel 18A process node in early 2026. Despite being the market leader, Intel’s share of the desktop and laptop CPU markets has declined, with AMD capturing approximately one-third of the desktop and over one-fifth of the laptop CPU markets in Q3 2023.

However, soaring memory chip prices, driven by high demand from AI data centers and limited DRAM production, threaten to increase PC prices by 10% to 30%, as evidenced by Dell’s plans. This situation may hinder Intel’s potential market recovery, even if Panther Lake and Nova Lake prove to be strong competitors against AMD.
