The First Trust Global Wind Energy ETF (FAN) experienced unusually high trading volume on Wednesday, with over 490,000 shares traded, compared to its three-month average of approximately 37,000 shares. Despite this surge in volume, shares of FAN remained flat.
Among the ETF’s components, Nextera Energy saw over 2.1 million shares traded, down about 0.5%, while GE Vernova experienced a decrease of 0.3% with over 706,000 shares changing hands. American Superconductor was the standout, rising approximately 3.4% on the day, while the Lazard Japanese Equity ETF fell about 1.2%.
