Fed Signals Potential Interest Rate Hike

Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh indicated that an interest rate increase could be on the horizon during a July panel discussion. Major market indexes, including the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite, have risen 22% and 28% respectively in the past year, but higher rates may dampen this growth by raising borrowing costs for companies.

According to CME Group’s FedWatch tool, there is a nearly 90% probability that the Fed will raise interest rates by December 2026. With AI driving much of the recent growth—around $1 trillion was spent on global data centers in 2025, projected to quadruple by 2030—any slowdown in tech investment from major players like Nvidia and Apple could significantly impact market performance.
