Ford Considers Vehicle Price Increases Amid Tariff Uncertainty
Ford Motor Co. F is contemplating a rise in vehicle prices due to uncertainties surrounding the Donald Trump administration’s tariffs affecting the auto industry.
What Happened: In a memorandum distributed to dealers nationwide on Wednesday, Ford, headquartered in Michigan, stated that it might increase vehicle prices if the auto tariffs remain in effect. This information has been reported by Reuters.
While a potential price increase for Ford vehicles is being discussed, consumers will not observe these changes in dealerships until July, according to the report.
A Ford spokesperson remarked, “Customers will have a lot of choices, and we have plenty of inventory to choose from through June 2. The tariff situation is dynamic, and we continue to evaluate the potential impact of tariff actions,” as cited in the report.
Why It Matters: Recently, Ford launched its ‘From America, For America’ discount initiative, which lasts until June 2. This program extends discounts typically allotted to company employees to all consumers within the U.S. It is important to note that certain models, including the Raptor, 2025 Expedition, Navigator SUVs, and Super Duty trucks, are excluded from this offer.
Michigan’s automotive sector continues to face challenges due to Trump’s auto tariffs, with recent reports suggesting that Ford may be at an increased risk of receiving a negative rating from S&P Global Ratings.
However, relief may be on the horizon for automobile manufacturers. President Trump recently expressed a willingness to explore options for granting exemptions to some U.S. manufacturers from the auto tariffs.
Price Action: Currently, Ford shares are trading at $9.41 on the NYSE, based on data from Benzinga Pro.

Assessing performance metrics, Ford scores 78.47% in growth and 90.27% in value, although it falls behind in momentum according to Benzinga’s Edge Stock Rankings. For a comparative analysis of other automakers, visit Benzinga Edge.
