Ford Motor Company’s Financial Update
Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) is set to release its second-quarter results on July 28, 2026, at 4:05 p.m. ET. The company is currently facing a $6.1 billion trailing-year loss, primarily due to noncash write-downs related to its electric vehicle strategy, while its dividend payout remains at $0.60 per share, reflecting a yield of approximately 4.1%.
Despite the overall loss, Ford’s operational cash flow was recorded at $21.3 billion last year, with an adjusted free cash flow of $3.5 billion. The dividend, costing about $2.4 billion annually, is covered by this cash flow, consuming only 40% to 48% of the expected annual free cash flow of $5 billion to $6 billion for 2026.
Management aims to demonstrate consistent cash flow in the upcoming report, having already reported a first-quarter net income of $2.5 billion, aided by a one-time $1.3 billion tariff refund. The continued viability of the dividend will depend on meeting anticipated cash flow targets amid expected commodity cost headwinds totaling about $2 billion.
