Ford Motor Company has announced a recall of 548,463 Expedition SUVs produced from 2018 to 2024 due to a defect that may cause the center console trim to peel away, exposing sharp edges and posing an injury risk to occupants. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that approximately 12.8% of these vehicles may be affected.

Reports noted by Ford indicate 34 customer calls, 150 field reports, and 4,634 warranty claims globally connected to this issue, with 65 associated injuries and one crash. Affected owners will be notified starting June 29, 2026, and are instructed to bring their vehicles to authorized dealerships for an inspection and, if necessary, replacement of the defective parts.

In a separate recall, Stellantis N.V. identified a defect affecting 1,076,999 vehicles, specifically certain 2021–2025 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator models, where faulty wiring in the power steering system could increase fire risk. Additionally, Lucid Group, Inc. recalled certain 2024-2025 Air vehicles over potential inverter defects, planning an over-the-air software update to address the issue.
