Ford Motor Company reported a 6% increase in U.S. sales in 2025, totaling over 2.2 million vehicles, marking its best fourth quarter and annual performance since 2019. December marked the tenth consecutive month that Ford outperformed the broader automotive industry, with its market share rising by 0.6 percentage points to 13.2%.

Key drivers included strong sales of its F-Series trucks, which saw an 8.3% increase with over 820,000 units sold. The company also became the top seller of hybrid trucks, with F-150 hybrid sales rising 15% year-over-year. Additionally, sales of entry-level trims on models like the Maverick and Ranger increased by over 42% in the fourth quarter, indicating Ford’s efforts to respond to consumer demand for affordability amidst rising vehicle prices.

Ford’s pivot from electric vehicles (EVs) to hybrids appears to be paying off, as it achieved a record 228,072 hybrid sales in 2025, representing a near 22% increase from the previous year. The company aims to enhance profitability after facing significant losses in its Model-e division focused on EVs.
