Fortuna Mining has announced a significant increase in reserves and resources at its Séguéla gold mine in Côte d’Ivoire, reporting an 11% rise in contained reserve ounces, a doubling of indicated resources, and a 15% increase in inferred ounces compared to December 2024. The mine now holds proven and probable mineral reserves of 13 million tonnes grading 2.81 grams gold per tonne, equating to 1.2 million ounces of contained gold.

The updated resource estimate grants Séguéla a life of mine of 7.5 years and represents the largest mineral resource to date. Fortuna is initiating aggressive infill drilling and plans to expand the plant capacity by approximately 25% to accommodate 2-2.5 million tonnes annually, up from the current 1.25 million tonnes. Ongoing exploration efforts are expected to enhance the mine’s productivity, with a forecasted production target of 309,000 to 339,000 gold-equivalent ounces by 2025.

As of the latest report, Fortuna produced 38,799 ounces of gold from Séguéla, contributing to a total of 72,462 gold-equivalent ounces across its mining operations in Q3. The company’s shares rose by 3.1% to close at C$11.97, reflecting an 82% increase year-to-date.
