France Inflation Declines to 3.1% France’s Annual Inflation Rate Declines to 3.1% in January 2024, A Two-Year Low

The inflation rate in France for January 2024 hit 3.1%, an index in line with market projections and a significant decrease from 3.7% in the month prior. The rate marked a low not seen since January 2022, as food inflation broadly slowed to an over a year-and-a-half low of 5.7% from 7.2% in December.

Consumer prices in France fell 0.3% from the previous month in January 2024, a slight revision from initial estimates of a 0.2% decline, and following a 0.1% rise in December.
