Cloud Computing Drives Growth for Major Tech Giants
Cloud computing is rapidly becoming the fastest-growing business segment for major tech companies, including Alphabet, Microsoft, and Amazon, as demand for artificial intelligence (AI) services escalates. Currently, Nvidia is the only company to achieve a market capitalization of $5 trillion. Alphabet’s market cap stands at approximately $4.2 trillion, Microsoft at $3.2 trillion, and Amazon at $2.8 trillion.
Collectively, these companies are investing hundreds of billions into their cloud divisions to meet the rising demand spurred by AI. Alphabet and Microsoft have seen significant growth, with Alphabet needing less than 20% growth to reach the $5 trillion mark. Amazon, while further behind, generates substantial profits from its Amazon Web Services (AWS), which accounted for 50% of the company’s operating income in Q4.
