Garrett Motion Inc. has opened its second innovation center in Wuhan, China, on June 26, 2025, to enhance its research and development for zero-emission automotive technologies, with a particular focus on high-speed E-Powertrain systems. This facility will work in synergy with Garrett’s existing center in Shanghai, forming a dual hub aimed at accelerating the commercialization of zero-emission technologies and fostering collaboration with academic and industry partners.
CEO Olivier Rabiller stated that the Wuhan center signifies a significant step in the company’s electrification efforts, reinforcing its role in decarbonizing the transportation sector. The center has already secured its first commercial production order for high-speed E-Powertrain systems, highlighting strong market interest and potential revenue growth.
Garrett, with over 70 years of experience, aims to deepen its R&D capabilities locally while supporting Chinese manufacturers and their global expansions, amidst growing emphasis on sustainable mobility solutions.
