ISG to Analyze Technology Service Providers for the Electric Vehicle Shift

Information Services Group (ISG) III, a leading global technology research and advisory firm, has initiated a study focusing on the ecosystem of technology service providers supporting the automotive industry.

The findings will appear in a series of ISG Provider Lens™ reports titled Automotive and Mobility Services and Solutions 2025, set for release in June 2025. These reports aim to highlight the services that help manufacturers modernize amidst rapid changes in digital technology.

Enterprise buyers can utilize insights from these reports to assess current vendor partnerships and explore new options. Additionally, ISG advisors will use the information to guide recommendations to their clients in the buying sector.

Demand for technological advances in the automotive sector is at an all-time high. The market is undergoing significant changes, highlighted by innovations like AI, evolving consumer preferences, and a notable shift towards electric and autonomous vehicles.

As the industry transitions, automotive services are crucial for manufacturers incorporating software and digital solutions into their operations. This shift aims to lower costs while enhancing market responsiveness and operational efficiency.

“Technologies like product lifecycle management, industrial IoT, and AI-driven data analytics are vital for improving efficiency and customer experiences,” explains Iain Fisher, director of ISG Provider Lens Research. By embracing these advancements, automotive firms can boost growth, optimize resource use, and align better with consumer expectations.

To support this research, ISG has surveyed over 120 automotive and mobility service providers worldwide. Collaborating with its global advisory team, ISG will create five quadrants representing essential technology services in this sector. The quadrants will evaluate:

  • Automotive Engineering and Manufacturing Services, which focuses on the design, development, production, and testing of vehicles and their components. This area combines mechanical, electrical, and software engineering to create safe and efficient vehicles.
  • Electric Vehicles and Mobility Services, assessing providers working to reduce fossil fuel use and improve public health through electrification and new urban mobility solutions.
  • Autonomous Systems and Software-defined Vehicles, which studies the impact of AI in enhancing vehicle safety, efficiency, and user experience through advanced features like adaptive cruise control.
  • Automotive Retail and Aftermarket Services, covering the services that improve sales operations and customer satisfaction throughout the purchasing process.
  • Technology Transformation and Consulting, which evaluates providers that support manufacturers in streamlining processes and improving operations through automation and digital tools.

Regional reports will evaluate the global automotive services market, paying close attention to products and services in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, including China. ISG analysts Harish B (Europe), Swadhin Pradhan (North America), and Mohdaves Malik (Asia Pacific) will lead these findings.

Detailed provider lists and study specifics can be found in a digital brochure. Companies not already identified as providers are encouraged to reach out to ISG for inclusion in the study.

Every 2025 ISG Provider Lens™ evaluation will include expanded customer experience (CX) data, reflecting real enterprise feedback on provider services. Companies interested in sharing their experiences can participate in an online survey, receiving a copy of the report in exchange for their input.
