Alphabet’s Google dominates the search market with over 5 trillion annual queries, holding an 89.66% market share, according to Semrush. In Q2 2025, Google Search and related revenues reached $54.19 billion, a year-over-year increase of 11.7%, exceeding estimates by 3.04%; these earnings comprised 56.2% of total revenues.
Google has launched the Circle to Search feature, which is now active on over 300 million devices, enhancing user engagement through AI Overviews that reach over 2 billion users monthly. With AI Mode launched in the U.S. and India, where it has more than 100 million monthly active users, search queries are reported to be twice as long compared to traditional searches, driving further growth.
In contrast, Microsoft’s Bing holds a 3.88% market share and has introduced Copilot Search to improve user experience. Additionally, Baidu is updating its Ernie-powered engine, focusing on AI and natural language queries to remain competitive in the evolving search landscape.
