Alphabet Inc. has acquired Wiz, enhancing Google Cloud’s security capabilities to better compete with Amazon and Microsoft in the cloud market. As of Q4 2025, Amazon holds a 28% share of the global cloud infrastructure market, followed by Microsoft at 21% and Google Cloud at 14%, according to Synergy Research Group.
Google Cloud’s revenue for 2025 surged 35.8% to $58.71 billion, driven by demand for AI Infrastructure and generative AI solutions. The cloud backlog reached $240 billion, growing 55% sequentially. Wiz currently caters to nearly half of Fortune 100 companies, bolstering Google Cloud’s enterprise clientele as it aims to provide end-to-end security services across the cloud lifecycle.
In 2026, Alphabet plans capital expenditures between $175 billion and $185 billion to further its cloud capabilities, amid intensified competition, as Amazon has committed $200 billion for its AWS infrastructure and Microsoft Azure reported a 38% revenue growth in the same period.
