Republic Services (RSG) reported first-quarter 2026 earnings per share of $1.70, exceeding the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.64 by 3.7% and rising 7.6% from $1.58 in the same quarter last year. Revenues reached $4.11 billion, a 2.6% increase year-over-year, surpassing the consensus estimate of $4.10 billion.

The North America Solid Waste Management market is projected to grow at a CAGR of 4.5% through 2031. With 70% of RSG’s revenue coming from its collection segment, the rise in municipal solid waste generation—increasing to an anticipated 3.8 billion tons by 2050—could support higher subscription fees and boost revenues for Republic Services.

For the first quarter of 2026, Republic Services reported a current ratio of 0.67, below the industry average of 1.08, indicating potential challenges in covering short-term obligations.
