Lean hog futures increased by $3.27 to $3.50 on Monday, with the USDA reporting a national base hog price of $84.29, a decline of 4 cents from the previous day. The CME Lean Hog Index dropped by 55 cents to $90.05 as of November 6.

The USDA’s pork carcass cutout value rose by $1.24 to $100.22 per cwt, while federally inspected hog slaughter for Monday was estimated at 494,000 head, exceeding last Monday by 1,000 and the same week last year by 48,744 head.
