Apple’s Potential iPhone Fold Launch
Apple is reportedly planning to launch a foldable iPhone, dubbed the iPhone Fold, as early as next year. The development aims to address the common issue of a crease in foldable phones, which has discouraged consumers due to concerns about usability. This new product could be pivotal in reviving Apple’s stagnant sales, particularly as their stock has dropped 17% in 2023.
Concerns Over Sales Growth
Apple’s net sales for the past six months totaled $219.7 billion, reflecting a modest 4% increase year-over-year; product-related revenue saw just a 2% rise. The company’s growth has been inconsistent, prompting concerns about its long-term attractiveness to investors, especially given its current trading multiple of 33 times trailing earnings, compared to the S&P 500 average of less than 25.
