2023: A Year of Achievement
In a notable achievement, Hudbay Minerals met its consolidated production guidance for all metals in 2023. The company’s copper production reached 131,691 tonnes, gold production totaled 310,429 ounces, and silver production stood at 36 million ounces. These figures marked substantial increases of 26%, 41%, and 13%, respectively, compared to the previous year.
Regional Success Stories

In Peru, the company’s operations thrived on sustained high grades at the Pampacancha satellite pit, leading to 33,207 tonnes of copper production and 49,418 ounces of gold production in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Manitoba operations achieved a quarterly record of 59,863 ounces of gold, courtesy of mining higher-grade gold and copper zones at Lalor, and the New Britannia mill processing significantly more gold ore. The operations in British Columbia produced 8,508 tonnes of copper, further adding to the company’s accomplishments.
