IonQ, Inc. has announced the acquisition of Capella Space on [insert date], aiming to establish the first global space-based quantum key distribution (QKD) network. This acquisition integrates Capella’s satellite technology with IonQ’s quantum hardware and software to create tamper-proof communication channels, which could benefit national defense, cybersecurity, and financial institutions.
