Intel Unveils Panther Lake CPUs at CES 2026
Intel showcased its Panther Lake family of laptop CPUs at CES 2026, leveraging the new Intel 18A manufacturing process to enhance performance and efficiency. With over 200 powered PC models expected to ship later this month, Panther Lake promises substantial improvements in battery life, reaching up to 27 hours in laptops, and a gaming performance boost of up to 77% compared to the last-generation Lunar Lake chip.
In a competitive move against AMD, which currently dominates the handheld gaming PC market, Intel is targeting this sector with plans to introduce Panther Lake variants optimized for gaming. The handheld gaming PC market, valued in the multi-billion-dollar range, saw 6 million units shipped by early 2025, with an additional 2 million expected in the current year, according to IDC.
