Tim Cook to Step Down as Apple CEO
Tim Cook will officially step down as CEO of Apple on September 1, 2023, after 15 years in the role. Under his leadership, Apple’s stock price has significantly increased, benefiting shareholders. Following Cook’s departure, John Ternus will take over as the eighth CEO in the company’s history. Ternus, 50, has a 25-year tenure at Apple and previously served as senior vice president of hardware engineering, contributing to the launch of key products like the iPad and AirPods.
Cook’s legacy includes establishing a robust manufacturing framework and improving logistics, while Ternus is expected to continue focusing on product innovation. Analysts, however, note that Ternus will face pressure to enhance Apple’s artificial intelligence strategy, which currently lags behind competitors who are heavily investing in AI technologies.
