Caterpillar Unveils Next-Gen Cat775 Truck with Autonomous Features

Caterpillar is set to showcase the new Cat775 off-highway truck at bauma-Munich 2025, emphasizing its advancements in technology and autonomous capabilities. As the company’s first next-generation off-highway truck, the Cat775 is engineered to handle a 65-tonne (71-ton) payload and is designed for full autonomy in the future.

The design of the Cat775 marks a considerable step forward in off-highway truck technology, delivering exceptional power, efficiency, and safety features. Attendees at bauma will experience a wide array of technologies, from remote control capabilities to semi-autonomous systems, paving the way for fully autonomous machines in the construction industry.

Caterpillar is capitalizing on its existing Autonomous Hauling Systems (AHS) and CatMineStar Command for hauling, which are currently deployed at mine sites globally. The company plans to adapt these systems specifically for quarry operations, enhancing operational efficiency and safety.

Insights gained from working with U.S. customer Luck Stone, which has MineStar Command for hauling installed on four Cat 777 trucks, have informed this transition. The company’s focus on the aggregate industry, characterized by smaller operations that do not require 24-hour hauling, is driving innovation in automation and operational management processes.

The Cat775’s anticipated launch is slated for 2026. While autonomous features using MineStar Command for hauling are in development, a specific release date will be communicated in the future.
