American Express (NYSE: AXP) reported a strong fiscal 2025, achieving nearly $10 billion in net card fees, an 18% increase year-over-year. The company generated $37.4 billion in discount revenue, and net income attributable to common shareholders stood at $10.7 billion. Notably, American Express allocated $18.4 billion in card member rewards, significantly exceeding fee collections, highlighting their commitment to customer loyalty.
Berkshire Hathaway, led by CEO Greg Abel, continues to hold a 22% stake in American Express valued at $56.1 billion, having originally invested $1.29 billion. The investment yielded $479 million in dividends last year. With a current price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 19.5, the stock remains considered a compelling value in the financial sector.
